BAKE MIXOLOGY

What Bake Mixology Is

Bake Mixology is a creative baking space where flavor comes first and rules come second.

This is where recipes and unexpected flavor combinations all live in the same kitchen. Some recipes are simple. Some are a little extra. Some are experiments that turn into staples. But everything here starts with the same idea: baking should be creative, not stressful, and it should taste good.

Bake Mixology is part kitchen, part flavor lab, and part creative space for people who like to try new things.

Bake Mixology Philosophy

At Bake Mixology, baking is about flavor, creativity, and making things your own.

That might mean upgrading a box mix, adding spices to a classic recipe, turning a sweet recipe into something savory, or combining flavors you don’t usually see together. Some days you take shortcuts. Some days you go all out. Both belong in the same kitchen.

There’s no one way to bake here. The goal isn’t perfection. The goal is to make something that tastes good and that you’re proud to put on the table.

What We Bake Here

Bake Mixology is not just one type of baking. Around here, you’ll find a mix of:

*Sweet Bakes – cakes, cookies, brownies, rolls, and desserts
*Savory Bakes – breads, rolls, cornbread, biscuits, and savory ideas
*Box Mix Glow-Ups – ways to upgrade and customize cake mixes and shortcuts
*The Spice Lab – spice blends, flavor ideas, and baking experiments
*Tools & Hacks – baking tips, tools, and techniques that make baking easier
*The Adult Corner – alcohol-infused desserts and more grown-up flavors

This is a place for both everyday baking and trying something a little different.

The Person Behind Bake Mixology

Bake Mixology was created after spending years making custom cakes and I learned that baking doesn’t have to be perfect to be good. What started as a business eventually turned back into something else; a space to experiment, work with new flavors, and enjoy baking again without the pressure of perfection.

Now Bake Mixology is a place to share those recipes, ideas, and experiments with other people who enjoy baking, trying new flavors, and making recipes their own.

All Things Baked!

Bake Mixology is built around one idea: all things baked. Not just cakes and cookies, but sweet, savory, classic recipes, upgraded box mixes, breads, rolls, and flavor experiments that don’t always fit into one category.

Some days it’s a simple cake.
Some days it’s savory cornbread. Some days it’s a new spice blend that changes a basic recipe into something completely different.

Bake Mixology isn’t about baking one way. It’s about exploring what baking can be.

Flavor First!

For a long time, especially baking custom cakes, it was all about how things looked. And the question people started asking wasn’t just “Is it pretty?” It was “But does it taste as good as it looks?”

A beautiful dessert is nice, but a dessert that tastes amazing is what people remember. Flavor is what makes people go back for another serving. Flavor is what makes someone ask for the recipe.

Everything here starts with that question: How does it taste, and how can we make it taste even better? Not every idea works the first time, but every recipe starts with the same goal: build flavor first, then everything else comes after.

About Me

Hey, I’m Jen, and welcome to my corner of the baking world.

I’ve been baking for nearly two decades, and for a while I ran a custom cake business called Blue Sky Treats. I loved it, but somewhere between work, life, and responsibilities, baking started to feel like pressure instead of fun.

Bake Mixology became my way back to the kitchen, but this time, on my own terms. Now I focus on experimenting with flavors, spices, fillings, and creating recipes that make people say "that was good"!

If you also like experimenting in the kitchen, you’ll fit right in here.
